Brookside CemeteryThe Brookside Cemetery was established in the year 1876; it was started by the residents of Englewood. They were the ones who purchased the land for Brookside Cemetery; the total land of the cemetery is six acres. Later on the trustees of the cemetery purchased more land in order to enlarge the area. The land that was purchased was about nineteen acres. The grounds of Englewood Picnic Area are opened throughout the year. The area of picnic area and boat basin was used to land by the Dyckman Ferry. However in the year 1942 the landing stopped because of the opening of George Washington Bridge.
